Changing the

left thumb position

During playing, the change of the left thumb position to use different octaves is rather difficult for beginners. So, let's have an exercise, which we play in non-legato, legato and staccato:

Exercise 1: non-legato

Exercise 2: legato

Exercise 3: staccato

For more exercises you may also play the exercises of lesson 7,

but one octave higher.
