8. THE STORY OF FLYING HERMANN
When his bombs came tumbling downIn the country and the townAnd the children helter-skelterRan into the nearest ShelterHermann boasted "Never fear!None will ever bomb us here."But they didAnd in a minuteHe was in it.Here you see the silly boyWith the Luftwaffe, his toy.
What a blow! He hears those boysMaking such a nasty noiseDropping bombs and things aboutTill he hardly dare go out. When he fliesTo the skiesAnd to drive them off he tries,Through the clouds the rude boys shoved himAnd he wept that no one loved him.
Soon they drove him such a heightHe was nearly out of sightAnd he didn't care a bit(When he dropped things) w hat they hit. Then they pushed him up so highThat they drove him from the skyAnd the Luftwaffe, it's plain,Never more was seen again. |
